I notice that the middle letter of this organization is an "A" for alternative.
In the leaflet that came through my door in the run up to the election was a supposed list of "alternatives", including biomass, photovoltaics and tidal.

For example, to replace the output of ONE modern commercial scale turbine (1.5MWp / 4000MWh/year) with photovoltaics would cost somewhere in the region of £50 million as opposed to the £2 million or so cost of a turbine. The array would also cover around 8.5 hectares.

To generate the same energy from biomass would require 27 hectares of oilseed rape.

Tidal, hmm, maybe possible because of course those estuaries aren't sensitive environments are they?

I am giving this information in order to demonstarte that nearly every supposed "Fact" in the pre-election leaflet was either misleading or plain wrong.

Come on then... come up with some REFERENCED scientific data to support your organization's claims. If you can, let's have a discussion. If you can't then shut up and stop being such a pathetic bunch of NIMBYs
